PROJECT: MINJERRIBAH
Together with Tim Woodfield Architect and Koa Constructions we have worked to transformed the existing Stradbroke Island residence into a beautiful gathering place for family and friends now and long into the future. The brief was to create spaces that flowed - enjoying natural breezes and light. Materials needed to be hard wearing and practical, easy to live in and un-fussy.
In the main house the existing Stradbroke Cyprus flooring is the hero, so introduced materials are clean and uncluttered - solid and strong colours such as the navy of the kitchen and white walls. The bathrooms were an opportunity to celebrate - with oversize terrazzo tiles offset with soft grey tiles and dark brown wood.
With the addition of an expansive covered deck and studio space we have more than doubled the liveable space - and created zones for eating, lounging, laughing, dancing, contemplating, creating, imagining.
